IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The Rhode Island Division of Taxation has recently received reports that taxpayers are again being targeted by scammers via a bogus mailing. The scam notice claims to be from the “Rhode Island Division of Taxation” referencing the Rhode Island Division of Taxation as the lender for a property listed in the notice. The Division of Taxation does not approve or hold loans on any property and the 800 number is not a Division of Taxation number. These scams can compromise the data security, finances, and identities of victims. If you have received this notice, be aware it was not sent by the Division of Taxation.
